Why Are There So Many Sarahs in My Life?
“I need help!" It was a frantic cry from the depths of my busy mind. Balancing my growing business and personal life felt like juggling fireballs. Desperation led me to confide in a good friend, who recommended her friend, Sarah, a virtual assistant (VA). Could this be the solution? A VA to handle tasks I couldn't get to, freeing up my time for networking and the vital tasks only I could do.
Even coaches need coaches. It's a truth that many might overlook, but I embrace it fully. I joined an executive entrepreneur mastermind coaching program to shorten my business growth learning curve. This is where I met Sarah, the COO, who became my business coach. Thank goodness for her guidance.
Life has a funny way of placing people in our paths. One ordinary day at a client’s office, I asked an intern to format a PowerPoint presentation for me. Little did she know, I am a PowerPoint perfectionist. "Make sure each text box is in the same position on every slide so they don’t appear to move when advancing," I instructed. Her response was swift and confident: "Already done." I was stunned. She matched my attention to detail perfectly. And what was her name? Sara.
Three Sarah’s in my life simultaneously. Some might call it serendipity, coincidence, or a God thing. Regardless of what you call it, you have to admit it’s extraordinary.
Believing it to be a divine sign, I dug into the story of Sarai in Genesis. Her tale, intertwined with Abram’s, is filled with themes of infertility and lack of trust. I pored over scholars' interpretations but found no clear message. Frustrated, I moved on…until today.
I realized I had been studying the wrong story. It wasn’t Sarai’s story that held the lesson, but Abram’s (Abraham’s). His journey is one of grappling with trust and purpose, much like mine. Usually, I don’t share my faith publicly, but this revelation was too significant to keep to myself.
My current mission is to grow the Grace & Salt Leadership Academy, empowering businesswomen to find their voices and enhance their executive presence. This is my purpose and I know it clear from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head. Yet, like Abraham, I doubt. I don’t trust that God will bless me and my business as He promised.
Stress has infiltrated my world. I’m not sleeping well, and my emotions are on edge. My goal for the summer is to meet a financial goal, but a looming problem arose. In July, I’ll be out of the office for 12 out of 23 days, more than half the month, unable to sell, network, or care for customers. How will I meet my goals if I’m absent for so long?
The realization hit me hard today. A lesson at church about Abraham. I am Abraham, taking matters into my own hands instead of trusting God’s plan. The reason for my absence is significant: seven days are dedicated to being the hands and feet of Jesus in the Dominican Republic, supporting a community and doing His work. But, like Abraham, I plan to micromanage and stay connected to my business instead of being fully present.
Today, I decided to take my hands off the wheel and let God lead. I leave for the Dominican Republic on the 9th and return on the 17th. I will strive to be fully present, building relationships, and spreading God’s grace.
Where are you today? Are you living out your purpose? Are you taking matters into your own hands like Abraham? Or are you trusting God’s plans? Is it time to let go of the wheel, as Carrie Underwood's song suggests?
Join me today and let go, let God.

While I understand the value of this strategy, today’s message takes precedence over keyword optimization. But yet, I’m convinced that there is someone who may search for one of these keywords that needs to hear this message so I’ll list them here.
